Reverse Oral Examination

Date & Time

25 Feb, 1pm

National Library Building, 100 Victoria Street, S(188064)

This activity gives the public (and authors) a second chance at the dreaded Oral Examination, a rite-of-passage for any Singapore school student.

In the picture discussion section, participants will have to describe a picture presented to them. However, instead of following conventions such as ‘at the top right-hand corner, there’s a boy running’ and politically correct answers such as ‘he shouldn’t be running because he might run into someone’, participants are free to create any sort of story, the wilder the better.

As for the reading passage, it will be an excerpt from a work of Singapore fiction. Participants will read the passage aloud in the most ridiculous, interesting and dramatic way they can muster. The best responses will be filmed and posted online.

The video will be released on The Hidden Good’s channel on 20 March.
