Storytelling & Drama Sama-Sama

Date & Time

25 Feb, 4pm - 7pm

Malay Heritage Centre
85 Sultan Gate, S(198501)

The children’s book Hang Nadim and the Garfish, written by Hidayah Amin and illustrated by Tan Ai Khim, comes to life in a dramatisation at the evocative Malay Heritage Centre lawn in Kampong Glam. More than just a stage adaptation, the event will include interactive storytelling elements and experiential simulations that enable children to learn more about Singapore literature in a socially inclusive way.

During the ‘Ears-as-Eyes’ experience, children will be blindfolded and guided by sounds in the environment, simulating the sensory experience of visually impaired children. In ‘Hands-in-Hands’, children will watch as the story is told by sign-language interpreters, experiencing how hearing-impaired children enjoy signed stories. They will also get the chance to try telling the story in sign language.
